"Careflow has the potential to be an effective and efficient alternative to pagers. It’s not a complete replacement because in medical emergency situations there still needs to be a 'crash message' pager. However for much of the routine work, Careflow is absolutely fantastic. It allows you to triage, to generate work lists, to divide work and behave more efficiently as an at night team.
What excites me most about Careflow is the ability to get qualitative messaging between ward staff and doctors. Pagers are intrusive and can interrupt important procedures or difficult patient communications, and it’s impossible to instantly assess the urgency of the bleep. Careflow overcomes this by allowing you to send a message stating exactly what you need and why it is that you need it, allowing better task allocation between teams, quicker review of patients and support with triage and managing workflow.
Careflow improves teamwork and productivity, reducing tension between base staff and peripatetic, clinical staff. Information is stored in a secure server rather than on your mobile phone meaning you can send patient information. The individuals that I’ve shared Careflow with have found it to be incredibly intuitive, very easy and simply to use. There was no training at all outside of initial instructions to download and log in – then they were away."

"Careflow has been particularly useful for people in an overseeing role and allows users to filter information and control who sees what. It’s a tool which makes communication between teams around problems much better and much more streamline.
Nurses find the platform particularly useful for problems which are hard to see or detect without having to scan through patient notes all the time.
